Way of Basketball (poem)

The prelude of the game has sounded
Dribbling single handed,
With eyes scanning the front, cross over, change in direction,
Fast break, turned to the basket and jumped,
Perfect layup sending the ball into the basket
Along the sounds of the crowd,
Conquering the courts with passion and ignited heart,

This is our basketball,
As long as our heart beats,
Give us a court,
Give us a basket,
Give us a ball,
And we can play until the end of the world.

Sometimes we are cold,
Using the coolest action bypassing the defensive side,
Using the ruthless shot to end the last glimmer of hope!
By then, we are the angel of Death...

Basketball perhaps is a way of pursuit of victory,
But the brotherly love is always inadvertently revealed,
Whether from his teammates or opponent,
From an encouragement of the eyes,
From a exciting high five,
When the opponets fall,
we always couldn't help but stretched out our hands to them,
Within the same blue sky,
Either our rival or teammate,
Has the same dream.

Found poem-- Lord of the flies

SHORELINE
(Lines from William Golding lord of the flies page 7-11)

1. The shore was fledged with green tree, (_ _).o○
2. These stood or leaned or reclined against the light,
3. Coarse grass, torn everywhere, scattered,
4. Behind was The darkness of the forest proper,
5. Ralph stood,
6. The boy with fair hair, //_o\
7. As far as width and heaviness of shoulders went,
8. He turned, jumped and knelt down to the beach, 囧rz
9. Looking at the water with bright, excited eyes, (O_O)
10. Shrieked with laughter,
11. Forced at last, to believe in the reality of the island,
12. In a single moment,
13. Looking at the dazzling beach and the water, (@_@)
14. Blue of all shades and shadowy green and purple,
15. An expression of pain, (T ^ T)
16. To a point at infinity,
17. Ralph stood,
18. Again,
19. The boy with fair hair, //_o\
20. Behind was The darkness of the forest proper!

Reflection #9 FINAL!

It's almost 11 PM, still don't know what to write. Only one hour left to being late...I put on my headphone, hoping the music will inspire me. The novel “Oryx and Crake” was a good novel. Although I think its a bit too long and boring, I really enjoyed reading it. The most fascinating part of this novel is that Crake actually succeeded the recreation of human, even though he died, and didn't get to see the world that he had created, I think he was happy. The most miserable part was that Snowman was the only surviver, but fortunately, more people showed up at the ending of the novel.

Reflection #8

Test next class...what should I do, I haven't finished reading the book yet. So, lets see, question 1: Theme of the book, disease and Immortality. Question 2: connection and inquiry, biotechnology and relationship. Question 3: what did I learn? I learned a lot of things, for example, the Pecha Kucha, and how to deal with people. Question 4: How did it go? The result were okay, most people know what it is, but they can't explain it. Now that, more people know about the problem of biotechnology, I think we did a good job on it.

Reflection #7

I was look for connection from the novel to our real life at this point of time. The novel was all fantasy, so there isn't much that were connected to our world, except for; love, friendship, family bonds, biotechnology, and their desire. The love and friendship part were the most similar and connected to our world; Being jealous and depressed because the one you have a crush on is dating your best friend and playing games, going to school, hanging out after and doing everything together. Those relationship were the same as in our world, the others were different, the style of their living and diseases all over the place.

Reflection #6

Half way through the book...To be honest, this book is kind of boring, all it talks about is Snowman's past, flashbacks. Nothing real serious did happen in the present time of the novel. Maybe I haven't got to the climax yet, I thought. However, I have to admit that Snowman's past was very emotional. From reading it, you can actually sync their feeling with yours, feel their loneliness and sadness from your heart. Reading this book makes me feel like my life is a lot better.

Reflection #5

While I was reading this book, the thought of the inquiry question suddenly came to my mind. At first, I didn't know what is a inquiry question, so i checked online. I went to google, typed in inquiry, and the definition was right there on the first page. “an official investigation”, well, I thought, if its a investigation, then it must have a problem first. Therefore, the biggest problem in our novel became our inquiry question, the biotechnology. What kind of harm will it do to us? Is there anything that we can do to minimize the damage?
